Miranda Namicheishvili, born in Tbilisi, Georgia in 1993, discovered her passion for filmmaking at 14. Her debut short film earned local youth festival awards. She studied at Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Tbilisi State University. Miranda's films have received recognition at Cannes and various festivals, including "The Load," which won at the Tbilisi International Film Festival. Her recent work, "Borders," premiered at the Batumi International Art House Film Festival in 2023. Miranda has also excelled in project competitions, scriptwriting for TV, and directing short documentaries for Georgian National Broadcaster - 1TV.
The film tells the story of a 33-year-old man, Mate, who is trying to enter the United States of America illegally. In Turkey, Mate will be placed in a wooden box loaded with soft toys on a ship. Soon it turns out that in the container where Mate is placed, two more people - Ray from Congo and Mohammed from Tunisia - are traveling illegally. Having already arrived at the destination, Mate and Muhammad discover that Ray has died. Both experience this as the death of a family member.
